Moses blesses the tribes of Israel (Deut 33) as Jacob blesses his sons (Gen 49), a sign that the two men live parallel lives.
Jacob flees home threatened by his brother, takes wives in exile, has sons, returns to the land, ends his life in Egypt.
Moses escapes from Egypt because of threats from Pharaoh and fellow Israelites, takes a wife in Midian, has a son, returns to Egypt to lead the people out in fulfillment of Jacob’s hope of return.
