1. LOVE
All of life is about LOVE.
Love God. Love People. If you want to get anything done as a group, love your team!
It’s always easy for a team to flourish if they feel loved.
It’s always difficult for a team when all they feel is "tolerated."
People tend to lead well where they’re loved, as opposed to tolerated.
2. ENCOURAGEMENT
I don’t know a single person that feels “too encouraged."
I can’t think of a single friend who has felt like their biggest problem is that they're getting too much encouragement. Can you?
Remember that everyone feels discouraged, overwhelmed, isolated, hurt, broken, frustrated.
Encouragement can go so far! It’s so needed.
Encourage your team and watch them thrive!
3. VULNERABILITY
No one likes working with the "fake" you – everyone loves working with the real you!
People love transparency.
People love a genuine leader.
People love authenticity.
People don’t require you to be a perfect leader; they want you to be a real leader.
4. SELFLESSNESS
We all have a touch of selfishness in us. We have to arrest our own motives and egos.
Within us all is a twinge of: “I’m out for me. I look after my own. I prioritize my own interests first.” We all struggle with it.
One of the things that pushes teams to greatness is a lack of ego.
When selfishness is removed, ego gets set aside, and pride retires, everything else starts to flourish!
Show me a team that’s selfish and struggles with a few “Me Monsters,” and I’ll show you a team that has a ton of frustration and struggles to grow.
5. UNITY
Fight for it. It’s worth it.
Unity doesn’t just fall from the sky – it takes a lot of relational investment. A lot of meals. A lot of time spent together outside of the office.
Unity is the thing that makes life and work extremely fun! But when it’s missing, LIFE AND LEADERSHIP ARE SO DANG DIFFICULT.
Invest into unity!
6. COMMUNICATION
Leadership is communication. Write down three ways you can improve your communication with your team this week!
Maybe you're doing great at one or two of these things, but make it your goal to be great at them ALL!
We all have room to grow – make the choice to be the best version of you.
