If I had to sum up 2009 in a verse, I'd point to David's words in 2 Samuel 4:9:
As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my life out of every adversity...
Anytime I found myself in a jam this past year, God's response was always to redeem that which was broken.
The past year reminded me again of the need for being Gospel-centered.
My hope for 2010?
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life — the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us...
Like the author of First John, I want to experience God in a deeper way. And to be changed as a result.
I want to see Jesus anew.
To feel His presence.
To testify and proclaim Him with a steel-in-my-spine, stronger faith.
Because eternal life has been made manifest to us.
