Catalyst Offices

Lots happening at the Catalyst Offices this week.  Tons of emails, phone calls, connections being made.  I took a break and snapped these pix of the band trying out the new drum set:

I think Matt is getting overwhelmed by all the phone calls.  But he was happy when he spotted our Facebook presence online:

Closing Time

"So gather up your jackets, and move it to the exits
I hope you have found a friend.
Closing time,
every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

The band this morning played us out to part of the song Closing TimeGod has been exceedingly gracious to our church start-up during this season at The Kent Stage.  Today we worshiped there one last time - so many memories.

Catalyst has gone from our living room to a traditional church building to the Stage... and now we look ahead to Regal Cinemas - a new season of ministry and opportunity awaits!

Church at the Movies

This past Sunday we made the big announcement:
New Year, New Location, New Opportunities.

Catalyst will begin meeting at Regal Cinemas on Sunday, February 1st!

 As a portable church, meeting at a movie theater will be a huge advantage:

  • professionally cleaned
  • complete climate control
  • on-site Catalyst KIDS
  • shoveled/salted parking
  • engaging environments

Everyone's response to the news was amazing.  Seriously.
People are gung-ho and ready to roll up the sleeves and get to work.  We're all excited about how God is opening doors for us to impact Summit & Portage counties as a
regionally-diverse church start-up!  More info is on our CataBlog...

Dare You to Move

As I waited backstage this past Sunday, the band's words echoed out:

The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

Yes, there is big news coming Sunday
Not hypin', just sayin'.

Some of the movement occurring this week:

Last but not least, a sneak peek at our new,
magically-delicious website:

"Dizzy Whirl!"

Allow me to interpret - I've become something of an expert after 18+ hours with a 2-yr-old in the car:

"Mikee" = Mickey Mouse
"Poo-whoah" = Pluto
"Chiknail" = Chip & Dale
"Wookapamtwee!" = Look!  A palm tree!

On a more serious note, I have to say that this vacation is a complete blessing to my family.  Last August a family at Catalyst blessed us with this week's free stay at their timeshare resort that is literally located across the street from Sea World in Orlando.  In the months leading up to this trip, we weren't sure how we were going to be able to afford travel/food.  In God's providence, a few days before Christmas an anonymous donor out of the blue gave us a gift that is fully taking care of our trip.  Thank you for your gifts and thoughtfulness - they are a strong encouragement to our family in the midst of ministry!
