I don't usually send out emails like this to our people at Catalyst, but I just did because I feel we're on the edge of something God-sized. Thought I'd post it here also to solicit your prayers:
First, THANK YOU to all our hard-working volunteers for your service.
Last Sunday was our 3rd highest attendance EVER and your enthusiasm
for serving was infectious. That's awesome!!
Now here's a prayer request heading into tomorrow:
From what we can tell, our massive 10,000 piece mailer didn't go out
last week, but instead hit mailboxes THIS week.
This means 2 things:
- Everyone who visited Catalyst last Sunday came because one of YOU
personally invited them. WOW!! Way to go!
- This week has the potential to have an EVEN HIGHER attendance because of
the mailer! I've been getting LOTS of emails and phone calls about
tomorrow - from people who are hurting, have given up on church, or
are looking for a place to call home. This stokes me up because that
means that many more people will hear about the grace and truth of
Jesus!
Already we have 26 rsvp's for our Newcomers Luncheon, which is HUGE
considering our last luncheon had only 5 people rsvp but 25 actually
show up. We're expecting at least 40 to come to the Luncheon now...
So, please pray for 2 things:
1) That our volunteers would be on time, jazzed up about Jesus, and
excited to serve. We need to work like it all depends on us and pray
like it all depends on God!
2) That tomorrow's worship and message on the 5 Aspects of Masculinity would have undistracting excellence in pointing people to
Jesus. We want hearts to be penetrated and souls to be hungry for
Christ.
I can't wait to see what God does! Thanks all - see you tomorrow!!
