The125
Now the 2 major announcements can go public...
1) Catalyst is not interested in "competing" with other churches/ministries/etc. That's been our heartbeat from the beginning and has led to fruitful friendships/partnerships with other missional ministries such as KSU Navigators and Sevenoseven.
My friends Andy Sikora and Dean Riley are helping lead Sevenoseven through a new season. They've asked Catalyst to walk alongside in support through prayer and other concrete ways.
This isn't about denomination, territory, or ego.
It's about Jesus and His flock. Period.
I love Andy, Dean, and everything Sevenoseven stands for. Please be praying for them, these students, and the Core Team at Catalyst as we seek to love on our brothers and sisters in Christ.
I don't know about you, but I just want to be part of something huge that saturates and dominates north-east Ohio with the Message of Jesus.
2) Remember the Catalyst Central space we grabbed up in May for Catalyst KIDS? Believe it or not, we've already outgrown it.
In the middle of summer.
Today we actually went over capacity (yikes!).
Long story short, we're moving Catalyst KIDS down the block to over 3,000 square feet of space that God miraculously made available to us! And we're renovating the entire space to house Catalyst KIDS, offices, 2 large gathering spaces for Newcomers Luncheons/local art exhibits/etc!
Be praying in the coming weeks as we work with the City of Kent on our permits, do some hardcore fundraising, etc. While we'll be utilizing 125 South Water Street (aka "The125" as in "one-twenty-five") immediately on Sundays for Catalyst KIDS (across from Franklin Square Deli near The Kent Stage), the official Grand Opening after all the rehabbing will be in Late 2007.
All in all, Jesus is the Senior Pastor of this church and is making things happen in His time by the power of His Spirit. I think that's why God calls the idiot's to plant churches; that way when things take off and are happening, Jesus gets all the glory!!

Jonathan, this is awesome. Your vision for what God wants to do in your area is always inspiring - every time I read your blog I remember why I got into church planting. Praying for you guys during this great time!

It was great visiting Catalyst and seeing this exciting church plant up front and personal. You're email is still forthcoming, but thanks for being so awesome :)
