God continued to bless us through others’ generosity. We knew we had miscellaneous expenses coming up due to moving and we needed to fix some things on Jon’s car. Somehow, I forgot God’s faithfulness and began to worry. He smacked me over the head once again.
Jonathan’s parents came into town for a quick visit. His mom handed me an envelope within five minutes of their arrival. She stated that it was from someone in their church (who wanted to remain anonymous) and that she wasn’t sure of the contents. I opened the envelope to discover nothing but a large stack of cash. My jaw dropped and I questioned my in-laws that this was really meant for us? The amount of money was pretty close to the amount we anticipated Jon’s car would cost to repair. This was only sweetened, however, when we discovered that our extended warranty would nearly cover all the repairs! We had a small deductible and a few smaller expenses that we had to pay out of pocket, but that was it. God had provided AGAIN – even in the midst of my sinful worrying.
We are now very happily transitioning into the life of Colwood Church. We are beginning to put our footprint on Caro, Michigan. The only remaining “hurtle” is for our house in Ohio to sell. God has been gracious and provided us with free temporary housing through the end of December. Once again, we have our man-made timelines. We’d love for our house to sell in the next month so we can move forward to permanent housing. God may provide those buyers – just as He has provided for us all along. His time frame may be different from mine. Either way – I cannot help but look to Him with open arms, faith and trust when I consider the desert He has brought us out of!
How dare we doubt God's provision -- He knows what we need (not want) before we even know what we will need. He once again proved His loving faithfulness to us by bringing us to our current church in IN -- He truly is an awesome God!
