Jonathan Herron is not your average pastor.
He studied comedy under Tina Fey at Second City.
Jon holds his Master's degree from Ashland Theological Seminary, but he'd tell you he learned more about grace and compassion while serving orphans in the third-world villages of Africa.
Over the past two years in Michigan, Jon's ministry has seen 328 people receive Christ and 135 people go public with their faith through baptism... all in a city of only 5,000 people.
Focused on strategic leadership and engaging teaching, Jon is passionate about people far from God discovering new life in Jesus Christ. He is leading a new church start-up launching in the Fall of 2012.
He continues speaking to crowds around the country through The Source for Youth Ministry's National Speaking Team and has years of experience as a national church planter assessor with the Acts 29 Church Planting Network.
Married 14 years to his high school sweetheart, Jon and his wife, Amber, reside near Saginaw, Michigan with their five-year-old son, Josiah and newborn baby daughter, Ainsleigh, plus Slinky the Wiener Dog.
To support this new church start-up, Jon does not receive a salary from Life Church so that all fundraising dollars can be focused directly toward church start-up needs.
